Newbury Park Tooth Extractions | Newury Smiles Dental Office
Comfortable and precise removal when preservation isn’t possible
Having a tooth extracted isn’t anyone’s first choice—and we get that. It can sound intimidating, but when saving a tooth just isn’t possible, our team at Newbury Smiles is here to make the process as smooth and stress-free as it can be. Dr. Sam Saadat takes a thoughtful, patient-centered approach, ensuring you feel informed, comfortable, and cared for every step of the way. Whether the issue is severe decay, infection, or a crowded bite, we focus on doing what’s best for your overall dental health while keeping your comfort our top priority.
When Is Tooth Extraction The Best Option?
Dr. Sam Saadat starts every case with a full exam and digital X-rays to understand your tooth’s condition and bone structure. While we always aim to preserve natural teeth, there are circumstances where extraction is the safest route—such as:
- →A tooth that’s severely decayed or broken beyond repair
- →Infections threatening the neighboring teeth or bone
- →Overcrowding that’s hindering dental health or proper alignment
This thoughtful approach ensures you get the most appropriate care for your smile.
Our Comfortable & Thoughtful Process
At Newbury Smiles, we focus on making your visit as stress-free and pain-free as possible, from start to finish:
→Digital imaging to guide a precise and conservative treatment
→Gentle numbing techniques to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the procedure
→Calming extras like a relaxed environment, friendly team, and clear communication
→Post-op instructions and personal follow-up to make your healing process easier
Planning Your Next Steps Beyond Extraction
Having a tooth removed is never the end of your smile—it’s the first step toward restoring it in a healthier, more confident way. After your extraction, Dr. Saadat will sit down with you to discuss the best options for replacing the missing tooth. Whether you’re interested in dental implants, bridges, or partial dentures, we’ll guide you through the pros and cons of each based on your goals, lifestyle, and budget.
Replacing a missing tooth isn’t just about aesthetics—it also helps maintain proper bite alignment, prevents neighboring teeth from shifting, and supports your long-term dental health. Our Dental Extraction Process
01.
Initial Consultation
We begin with a full evaluation, including digital X-rays, to understand the position of the tooth and assess surrounding bone and nerve structures. Dr. Saadat will explain why extraction is recommended and answer any questions you have before moving forward.
02.
Numbing the Area
We use local numbing to ensure the area around the tooth is fully desensitized. If you’re feeling anxious, ask us about options to help you feel more at ease throughout the procedure.
03.
Gentle Tooth Removal
Once you’re numb and comfortable, Dr. Saadat will carefully loosen the tooth using specialized instruments. Depending on the tooth’s position and condition, it may be removed in one piece or in smaller sections to minimize impact on surrounding tissue.
04.
Planning for Replacement (if needed)
If you’re planning to replace the extracted tooth with a dental implant, bridge, or denture, Dr. Saadat will go over the best timing and options so you can restore your smile as seamlessly as possible.
When to Consider Missing Tooth Replacements
When a tooth goes missing, it sets off a chain reaction that can impact your long-term dental health. Ideally, you should meet with Dr. Sam Saadat within 3 to 6 months after tooth loss—before the surrounding bone starts to shrink or nearby teeth begin to shift out of place. One of the biggest questions patients have is which tooth replacement option makes the most sense: a dental implant, a traditional bridge, or a combination approach. Each has its own benefits, depending on your needs:
Dental Implants
Implants are considered the most advanced and long-lasting option for replacing a single missing tooth. They restore both the root and visible portion of the tooth, providing excellent stability and preventing bone loss. Ideal for patients with sufficient bone density, implants don’t rely on neighboring teeth for support. While the upfront cost is higher, their durability often makes them the most cost-effective solution over time.
Traditional Bridges
This option relies on neighboring teeth to hold a false tooth in place. It’s often chosen when the teeth on either side already need crowns or when a quicker, more affordable solution is preferred. However, since bridges don’t replace the tooth root, they don’t help preserve the jawbone and usually need to be replaced every 7–10 years.
Implant-Supported Bridges
For patients missing multiple teeth in a row, this hybrid solution combines the best features of implants and bridges. Fewer implants are used to anchor a bridge that spans several teeth, making it a great option when individual implants aren’t practical. It also supports bone health while restoring function and aesthetics.
At Newbury Smiles, we take the time to assess your bone structure, nearby teeth, and personal goals to help you choose the option that fits your lifestyle and sets you up for long-term success.
